Today marks Day #1 in operation "project basement".
Thought I'd post a few before shots for everyone to savor and enjoy. Keep in mind we had to clear the basement of goodies from two boys who have basically amassed a small ToysRUs, a pack rat husband who can't let go of his 80's flannels or old textbooks, the remnants of Cereality, and my 'guilty as charged' never-ending collection of Williams Sonoma cake pans.
Tom's old sleeper sofa which we "sailed" down the stairs when we moved in. No idea how that sucker is coming back up & out.
Bella thinks we should leave it. I tend to agree seeing how she remains the reigning champion in the "loudest snorer" competition with Tom.
Oh A&E just called...looks like we qualify for our own episode of Hoarders. And thats only the guest room!

So, what does the basement project entail? Playroom? Grownup space? Are you doing the work yourselves?
Its been a couple of weeks since the wedding, so we've started our basement project as well. Cleanup and all new lighting installation are complete. Next is drywall. I'm trying to only be involved in the fun stuff -- designing the bar, choosing furniture and decor, etc.

Wow - kudos to you guys for hauling all of that out of the basement! I hope the progress is going well - I can't wait to see the finished project!
And right - like Flo's will ever be able to take a backseat! I'll redo the whole house before I admit defeat!
Wow are you guys ambitious! My basement will never be "livable" -- there are way too many tools in the world that need to be housed down there!
