Bark in the Park

Yesterday was the last ice cream social for doggies at Wiscoy. Thankfully the weather held up and we could sneak down to enjoy the fun. Its hard to believe one year ago when Will was one month old he made his first appearance (screaming) at Wiscoy. We took a walk back into Tudek Park and stumbled upon two horses which Will thought was hysterical. He's completely fearless which means we're in for it.

Not much else going on in the House of Cereal. Students are moving back into dorms this weekend so the cafe is seeing some old familiar faces again. Will seems to be cutting two molars and likes to throw tantrums lately (see above). Good times.

Aunt Aly & Uncle Steve!

It was a great weekend filled with lots of peanut stix and rounds of Blokus. It was also fun catching up with my seesta and bro Steve. Of course Will had a ball with you guys and loves the attention. I'm still full from dinner on the deck (which reminds me spaghetti squash recipe is coming). Thanks for hanging out at Gibson Place and remember to give Fozzie some pets from us!!

PS. Here's the Nichols Quiz - see if you can beat Tom's high score of 46.5 (and I'm not going to mention what I got!!)

The Jim Koppmann Family

A big thanks to Jim & Rebecca for making the trek to State College to see us over the weekend. Will loved seeing his cousins and hopefully everyone enjoyed the cafe! From the looks of it I think it was a success. We miss you guys already and are excited you're only a car ride away.

1 year check-up

Today Tom & I took Will in for his 1 year check up. I always look forward to his well child visits. Its always fun to anticipate hearing his weight and height stats, since I'm usually making bets with Tom. Since Will was born he's been a big kid so this visit didn't disappoint in the least. For his height he ranks in off the charts at 33" (99% percentile) and his weight he clocked in at 27.6 lbs (94% percentile). Its always reassuring when the Dr lifts him up and chuckles "he's going to be one big solid kid - he's average for a typical 20 month old!". No joke those where the first words he heard from Dr. Cherry when he came into this world - "this is ONE BIG KID you've got here he's gotta be like 8 or 9 lbs!!". I don't put much faith into stats or sizing him up to other kids his age. I figure things will happen in due time. But I keep thinking about this past year and how quickly its gone by. The car seat is now forward facing. Bottles are starting to become a thing of the past. When he wears sneakers he looks like he's about three years old. But thankfully, Mr.Blankie and rocking with mommy at bedtime are still high on the list. Just remember Will, you're never too old to hang out with the mommy. I love you little buds!

That was my sentimental moment of the month. Good thing tomorrow is August. And I'm sure tomorrow he'll pitch a tantrum and I'll be ready to sell him at the nearest garage sale for $1.00.

Oh before I forget - let the records state I am OFFICIALLY swearing off McDonald's forever. And I mean it this time. Morgan Spurlock you tried your best with Supersize Me. And you almost had me. But I'm afraid to admit that Sunday while running a few errands with Tom & Will we went through the drive-thru for a happy meal. Long story short today is the first day I feel human. I will never eat McDonald's, cherry tomatoes, rice, OJ, or beef teriyaki. Move over pineapple you've been booted (literally) from your throne!!! Um gross.
